Woman in the Woods

Woman in the Woods

When I was a young lad
And at my mothers side
I wandered through a local wood
One sunny autumn day

I met a woman standing there
Her hair was golden bright
She smiled at me and cast a spell
Beneath that autumn light

"Come look into my blue eyes"
"And at my golden hair"
"Remember this, through-out your life"
"You will never meet a woman"
"Who is quite so fair"

She told me many stories
Of life and loves delights
But now I am an old man
Who has nearly reached his time

But I remember vividly
That day in the woods
The tales and stories told to me
By the woman in the woods
