Stardust

Stardust

We are but stardust

You and me

We came from a place
Called eternity

Once there was nothing
In the void of time
Just stardust, gasses
Water and slime

We came from space
Light-years ago
From a Stella big Bang
And a suns afterglow

A chemical soup
Of a thousand and one
In just the right place
From the heat of our sun

This stardust was cooked
In a big ball of stew
With just the right ingredients
To create me and you
A fireball of stardust
Is Earth’s distant fate

On the journey to immortality
We once more make
For if you took the time to think
Our life span is but an eyelid blink
